1. EQUITIES MARKET
Nigerian Equities Market closed positive as the key market indicator inched up by 499.95 bps amid positive market breadth.
The NGX All-Share Index inched up by 0.95% to close at 53,157.83 basis points as against 0.18% loss recorded previously to close at 52,657.88 basis points at the end of the last trading session. In Naira terms, the NGX Market CAP records a N277.31bn gain.
YTD, the NGXASI Stands at +3.72%
The total volume traded advanced by 17.68% to close at N201.36m, valued at N5.67bn and traded in 4,332 deals. ZENITHBANK was the most traded stock by volume with 36.76m units traded while GEREGU was the most traded stock by value which is put at N1.79bn
Sectoral performance was broadly negative as five (5) NGX sector index closed northward, ten (10) sector index closed southward and three (3) closed flat. The NGX INSURANCE index advanced by 0.36% to top the gainer’s chart while the NGX PREMIUM index declined by 0.76% to top the losers’ chart.
The Gote index stayed flat to close at 139.42 basis points while the Toni index declined by 0.35% to close at 121.58 basis points.
At the close of trading, the market recorded 28 gainers to 15 losers and 68 unchanged. GEREGU topped the list of gainers while WAPIC topped the list of losers.
Thus, market breadth closed flat as the Market Breadth Index (MBI) is put at 5.23x.
