The anointed candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Tajudeen Abbas, has emerged as the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Abbas pulled 353 votes to thrash the other contestants, outgoing Deputy Speaker, Ahmed Wase, and Sani Jaji, who scores 3 votes each
