Investors Gained N323.98bn as NGXASI Advanced by 0.58%; BDC Rate Appreciated to N1,477/USD

1. EQUITIES MARKET 

The domestic bourse extended Friday’s gain to start the week on a positive note due to appreciation in pricesof FLOURMILL (+10.00%), TOTAL (+9.98%), JBERGER (+9.15%), TRANSCOHOT (+5.48%), ZENITHBANK (+4.66%), NB (+2.38%), SEPLAT (+2.24%), ETI (+1.89%), STANBIC (+0.57%) and GTCO (+0.13%).

Thus, the All-Share Index (NGXASI) rose 0.58% at 99,793.71 points, from Friday’s gain of 0.09% at 99,221.14 points. As such, investors gained N323.98bn as Market Capitalisation increased to N56.45trn, and year-to-date return stood at 33.46%. 

The total volume traded advanced by 148.33% to close at N963.54m, valued at N13.50bn and traded in 8,657 deals. FIDELITYBK was the most traded stock by volume and value, with N605.26m and N6.03bn units traded, respectively.

The Gote and Samad indices stayed flat at 346.07 and 364.34 points, respectively, while the Toni Index posted a gain of 1.85% to close at 1,248.36 points.

As measured by the market breadth index (MBI), investors’ sentiment remained positive at 0.24x with 30 gainers against 10 losers, while 82 equities were unchanged. FLOURMILL topped the gainers’ list, while ETRANZACT topped the losers’ list.      

Volume and Value Contribution

FIDELITYBK had the highest volume, contributing 62.82%, while ACCESSCORP and NB followed closely.  

The value chart shows that FIDELITYBK contributed the most, with a 44.64% share. ACCESSCORP and NB  followed closely behind.
