SYNOPSIS
In this hilarious and heartwarming drama, a young city girl returns to her village after many years, only to find herself at odds with the simple, traditional way of life. Her condescending attitude towards the villagers, especially her peers, ultimately leads to a supernatural consequence: her voice is swapped, forcing her to speak in a local dialect.
As she struggles to cope with this unexpected twist, her city boyfriend arrives, seeking to exploit her inheritance. However, she finds love and redemption in the unlikeliest of places – with a village guy who challenges her to reevaluate her priorities.
Will she learn to appreciate the simple things in life and find true love, or will she return to her old ways?
Trade by Bata is a comedy-drama that explores themes of identity, community, and the importance of staying true to one’s roots.
