Officers of the Nigerian police force raid gay wedding, declared CLETUS OGOGCHUKWU OKEKE wanted for homosexuality.
The Nigeria police force has declared one CLETUS OGOCHUKWU OKEKE who hail from Nnewi south local government of Anambra state, Nigeria WANTED over offence of homosexuality and bribery. A warrant of arrest has been issued by a magistrate court in delta state.
According to the police spokesman, ASP bright edafe speaking to news men says “ the offence is punishable under Nigeria anti-gay law enacted in January 2014, stipulates a 14 year jail term for anyone convicted of having sexual relations with person(s) of same gender”
“On 28 August 2023 a gay wedding was held at teebolous hotel, refinery road, Ekpan Warri, delta state. The officers of the Nigerian police force raided the venue and arrested 67 persons identified to be gay/bisexual. During the course of interrogation a suspect name Evans obi who is among the 67 suspects, identified one Cletus ogochukwu okeke who was not present at the wedding,as his partner and they have secretly been together for about seven years, further arrest was carried out and he was apprehended. Some days after his arrest, it was revealed that some Nigerian police officers had collected a whopping sum of five hundred thousand naira from the suspect ( Cletus ogochukwu okeke) as bribe to unlawfully regain his freedom, and as I speak to you, the officers involved in such act have been identified and will be prosecuted accordingly… the suspect(Cletus ogochukwu okeke) has been declared wanted by the Nigerian police for homosexuality and bribery”.
Speaking further more, he says; “ while his partner is among the 67 persons arrested, convicted and sentenced to jail Cletus ogochukwu okeke is still on the wanted list to face prosecution “,
It was earlier reported that the said suspect has multiple times been attacked by angry mobs in his community and every other community he has resided in for safety.
He was last seen in Lagos state, Nigeria.
The Nigeria police force has appealed to the general public that if the person( CLETUS OGOCHUKWU OKEKE) whose photo appears above, is seen anywhere and anytime or have useful information regarding his whereabouts across the country should please report to the nearest police station.
