Nigerian Police Announces Posting and Redeployment of AIGs
The Nigerian Police Force has announced the posting and redeployment of Assistant Inspectors-General of Police to various zones across the country.
According to a statement signed by CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, mnipr, mipra the Force Public Relations Officer, the postings are with immediate effect.
The postings/redeployments are as follows:
- AIG Zone 14 Katsina – AIG Ahmed Abdulrahman, mni
- AIG Police Mobile Force – AIG Ibrahim Sani Ka’oje, mni
- AIG Special Protection Unit – AIG Matthew Akinyosola, mni
- AIG Zone 12 Bauchi – AIG Sylvester Abiodun Alabi, fdc
- AIG Maritime Lagos – AIG Yekini Adio Ayoku, psc(+), mni
- AIG Zone 13 Ukpo Dunukofia – AIG Olofu Tony Adejoh
- AIG Zone 7 Abuja – AIG Aliyu Garba

Out of the 21 AIGs assigned 8 are alumnus of the prestigious National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru, Jos.
The repositioning of operations in the Nigerian Police Force is coming in less than 1 month and 3 weeks to the inauguration of a new government by May 29th, 2023.
Recently, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR inaugurated the Police Service Commission Chaired by the former Inspector General of Police Mr. Solomon Arase.
The Inspector General of Police Mr. Usman Alkali speaking through the Force Public Relations Officer, charged all newly posted and redeployed officers to put their best foot forward in ensuring that the activities of their new Commands, Formations, and Departments align with the Police Reform mandate
