Nigeria Far Behind in Broadband Infrastructure Claim Tech Analysts

Among the 88 countries tracked by Omdia in fibre optic deployment capacity, Nigeria ranked 85th. The survey carried out in 88 countries shows Nigeria performed poorly, with the top five countries being Singapore, South Korea, China, United Arab Emirates, and Qatar. The US ranked 25th, while the UK was 55th on the list. African countries ranked the least, with South Africa leading the continent at 64th position, Egypt ranked 71st, Ivory Coast 72, and others like Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Morocco, Uganda, Algeria, Botswana, Tunisia, Tanzania, Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Cameroun coming behind. Analysts believe that many investments need to be made in technological infrastructures to help the country bridge the gap in our broadband deficit.
