Investors Lost N173.15bn as NGXASI Declined by 0.31%; BDC Rate Depreciated to N1,135/USD

       1. EQUITIES MARKET 

1.1 NGX – Listed Equities

The Nigerian stock market ended with a negative market breadth, closing 306.16 points lower.

The NGX All-Share Index declined by 0.31% to close at 99,539.75 basis points, compared to the previous day’s loss of 0.06% to close at 99,845.91 basis points. The NGX Market CAP also recorded a loss of N173.15bn Naira terms.

YTD, the NGXASI Stands at 33.12%

The total volume traded declined by 9.81% to close at N257.86m, valued at N5.40bn and traded in 7,168 deals. UBA was the most traded stock by volume with N38.72m, while GTCO was the most traded stock by value with N1.31bn units traded.

The Gote Index closed flat at 347.33 basis points, while the Toni index declined by 0.04% to close at 1288.67 basis points.

At the close of trading, the market recorded 14 gainers, 20 losers, and 89 unchanged. FTNCOCOA topped the gainers’ list, while UNITYBNK topped the losers’ list.          

Thus, the market closed with a negative market breadth index (MBI) of -0.07x

Volume and Value Contribution

UBA had the highest volume, contributing 15.01%, while GTCO and ACCESSCORP followed closely. 

According to the value chart, GTCO contributed the most, with a 24.27% share. UBA and  ZENITHBANK followed closely behind.

1.2 NASD OTC Exchange – Unlisted Equities

The NASD market index declined by 0.40%  to close at 1,043.32 basis points, compared to the gain of 2.64% recorded from the previous 1,047.56 basis points.

The total volume traded advanced by 669.73% to close at N578,297 units valued at N253.07m, traded in 31 deal(s). 

At the close of trading, the NASD OTC market recorded one (1) gainer and one (1) loser.
