1. EQUITIES MARKET
Nigerian Equities Market maintained negative posture as the key market indicator dipped further by 1575.81bps amid negative market breadth
The NGX All-Share Index dipped by 3.23% to close at 47,260.89 basis points as against 0.09% loss recorded previously to close at 48,836.70 basis points at the end of the last trading session. In Naira terms, the NGX Market CAP records N858.3bn loss.
YTD, the NGXASI Stands at +10.64%
The total volume traded grew by +3.80% to close at 140.67m, valued at N2.52bn and traded in 4,372 deals. GTCO was the most traded stock by volume with 25.73m units traded while GEREGU was also the most traded stock by value which is put at N586.76m
Sectoral performance was broadly negative as one (1) NGX sector index closed northward, thirteen (13) closed southward while four (4) closed flat. The NGXAFRHDYI inched up by 0.15% to top the gainers chart while the NGX MAIN BOARD Index dipped by 5.06% to top the losers’ chart.
Gote index dipped by -0.02% to closed at 128.23 basis points and the Toni index dipped by 1.75% to close at 99.87 basis points.
At the close of trading, market recorded 14 gainers to 23 losers and 56 unchanged. GEREGU topped the list of gainers while AIRTELAFRI topped the list of losers.
Thus, market breadth closed negative as the Market Breadth Index (MBI) is put at -0.16x.
