Investors Gained N141.89bn as NGXASI Advanced by 0.26%; BDC Rate Depreciated to N1,498/USD

1. EQUITIES MARKET 

1.1 NGX – Listed Equities

The Nigerian bourse opened the trading week on a positive note, rebounding from Friday’s loss as investors showed renewed interest in some banking stocks: UBA (+5.73%), ACCESSCORP (+3.35%), FBNH (+3.18%), ZENITHBANK (+2.50%), and GTCO (+1.21%). 

The NGX All-Share Index (NGXASI) rose 0.26% to 97,863.34 points, compared to the previous close of -0.37% at 97,612.51 points. Investors gained N141.89bn as the Market Cap climbed to N55.36trn while the ASI’s year-to-date return grew to 30.88%. 

The total volume traded declined by 52.28% to close at N366.98m, valued at N5.94bn and traded in 8,031 deals. ACCESSCORP  was the most traded stock by volume and value, with N176.23m and N2.99bn units traded, respectively.

The Gote declined slightly by 0.003% to 342.73 points. The Toni index advanced by 0.80% to 1,219.53 points, while the Samad index remained flat at 364.34 points. 

The market breadth index (MBI) was negative at -0.08x with 15 gainers against 22 losers, while 85 equities were unchanged. JOHNHOLT topped the gainers’ list, while CAVERTON topped the losers’ list.            

Volume and Value Contribution

ACCESSCORP had the highest volume, contributing 48.02%, while FBNH and UBA followed closely.

The value chart shows that ACCESSCORP contributed the most, with a 50.42% share. FBNH and UBA  followed closely behind.
