 Investors Gained N1.82trn as NGXASI Advanced by 3.39%; BDC Rate Depreciated to N1,320/USD

EQUITIES MARKET 

1.1 NGX – Listed Equities

The Nigerian stock market closed higher by 3,329.48 points, ending the day with a positive market breadth.

The NGX All-Share Index advanced by 3.39%, closing at 87,970.37 basis points, compared to the previous day’s gain of 1.92%, which closed at 84,640.89 basis points. The NGX Market CAP also recorded a gain of N1.82trn in Naira terms.

YTD, the NGXASI Stands at 17.65%

The total volume traded advanced by 34.82% to close at N1.09bn, valued at N16.05bn and traded in 14,835 deals. JAIZBANK was the most traded stock by volume with N150.64m, while NASCON was the most traded stock by value with N2.57bn units traded.

The Gote Index advanced by 9.86% to close at 238.79, while the Toni index advanced by 5.53% to close at 700.94 basis points.

At the close of trading, the market recorded 75 gainers, 10 losers, and 35 unchanged. BERGER topped the gainer’s list, while ROYALEX topped the list of losers. 

Thus, market breadth closed positively as the Market Breadth Index (MBI) is 1.86x.

Volume and Value Contribution

JAIZBANK had the highest volume contribution with 13.84%, while AIICO  and FCMB followed closely.

According to the value chart, NASCON is at the top with a 9.89% contribution. NB  and UBA followed closely behind.
