Anxiety as Kano bans top Islamic preacher, shuts his mosque over inciting sermons

  In an attempt to forestall a breach of peace, the Kano government has banned one of the state’s popular Islamic cleric – Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara

He  was slammed with a ban, with his mosque also put under lock over an alleged violence-inciting comment –

 Necessary security bodies have been briefed to ensure that ban on Kabara is implemented PAY     Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara, a controversial Kano-based Islamic preacher, has been banned by the state government over alleged violence-inciting sermons. The mosque of the factional leader Qadiriyya sect located in Gwale area was also shut down by the Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje-led government. Speaking on Wednesday, February 3, Kano commissioner for information, Muhammad Garba, said the decision to ban the controversial cleric was to give peace a chance and curb what looks like a brewing religious crisis
